GALLERY: UI sweeps Notre Dame, WSU, and EWU

The Vandals hold a 55-33 overall record at Memorial Gym under current head coach DEBBIE BUCHANAN, including a 36-16 mark at home since 2003. This weekend she led the Vandals to three consecutive sweeps, beating Notre Dame, Washington State and Eastern Washington at the Idaho Volleyball Classic. The Vandals are off to a 5-1 start for the first time since the '04 season, with four straight sweeps.

Congratulations from all of us at to the Idaho volleyball team on their sweep last weekend over Notre Dame (winning 25-21, 25-14, and 25-17), Washington State (winning 25-21, 25-16, and 25-22), and Eastern Washington University (winning 25-21, 25-15, and 27-25) at the Idaho Volleyball Classic in Memorial Gym on the campus of the University of Idaho.

Below is our salute to the Vandals, who at 5-1 are off to their best start since the 2004 season (Idaho's only loss this year was the season opener at #15 Middle Tennessee State). We recognize the FOUR individual Vandals who are currently ranked among the Top 50 in the nation in four statistical categories, as well as several standout athletes this season.

The Vandals were picked in the preseason to finish 2008 third in the Western Athletic Conference, and are off to an impressive start.
