Lots of things have to go our way for Illini to win tonight.
If DJ cannot shoot the ball, the probability of an Illini win is very, very slim. If DJ is near 100% and hitting his normal three point production, the probability of an Iilini win gets lots better, which is still pretty slim. If Mike Henry and Joe Bertrand can each hit double digits with less than a total of 3 turnovers, the probability goes up. If Myers Leonard can assert himself on both ends and stay out of foul trouble, lets say 11 boards and points, it goes up even more. If Brandon Paul stops chucking from behind the arc while on the move and takes only on balance in rhythm jumpers when he is open, things start looking ok. I expect his floor game to be good as usual. If Tyler, Nnanna, Tracy, Shaw and Iggy can do more good than bad an get 10 boards and points, the game should be rather close.
If all these things happen, which makes it one of the best of the year, the Illini may win a close one if OSU has a below avg. night shooting the ball....which means not only must our guys play with offensive focus, but must work their cans off and play smart defense. Could happen...likely OSU about 72 ....Illlini around 48.
Illini must depend on quality play off the bench which is hardly dependable....but all have been good at times. If it is good, depth may be a huge factor.
