Midwest RB Visits Illinois

One of the top running back prospects in the Midwest made a recent visit to Champaign-Urbana. Who are his early favorites?

"No offers yet," said running back Mark Bonds. "Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Purdue and Ohio State are the schools that have writing me the most.

"My favorites are Purdue, Tennessee, Michigan, Purdue, Texas, Ohio State, Illinois and Ball State.

"I've already been to junior days at Indiana, Purdue and Illinois. I don't have any summer camp plans yet."

Bonds, a 6-foot, 205-pounder, from Indianapolis (Ind.) Warren Central is one of the best junior running back prospects in the Big Ten region.

As a junior, Bonds rushed for 1,300 yards and 17 touchdowns. He missed three games with an injury but was still named all-state.
