Ezra Robinson was hoping for a better senior season at Booker High School in Sarasota, Florida.
"We started off slow, but it's picking up now. We're 1-4."
Their 35-23 win over Lake Placid gives them hope for the rest of the season. As a cornerback on a team that is struggling, Robinson can get kind of lonely on the football field.
"Teams aren't throwing my way, so I guess I'm doing pretty well."
The 6'-0", 170 pounder went into greater detail about his assets at cornerback in a previous report for InsideIllini. He is trying to develop a complete game, but his ability to demonstrate his skills is limited if opponents don't throw his way.
Still, he has plenty of college suitors. Among those schools offering scholarships are Illinois, Michigan State, Georgia Tech, Clemson, South Florida and West Virginia.
He has continued his strong interest in the Illini since the summer. He is especially close with Illinois secondary coach Mike Gillhamer.
"We speak every week. He's a really nice guy. I can see myself being coached by him."
Robinson anticipated the Illini's quick 6-0 getaway to the 2011 season.
"I'm not surprised to know they could do great things."
He hasn't begun to reduce his school options.
"I don't have a top group yet."
Right now, Robinson has only one college visited scheduled.
"I'm going to Michigan State on the 22nd."
Does he plan to include Illinois among his official visits?
