The Fighting Illini football program continues to make a statement in recruiting. The latest to commit is highly rated Caleb Day, a defensive back from Hilliard, Ohio. Day performed at a recent Illini summer camp and impressed.
Caleb Day committed to Illinois Thursday. The Darby High School defensive back chose the Illini over offers from Michigan, Purdue and Ohio State, his hometown school.
Day attended the recent Friday Night Lights summer camp and demonstrated outstanding coverage skills. In addition, he ran a 4.59 forty and a 4.18 shuttle.
The 6'-0", 188 pounder will likely play safety at Illinois. He becomes the 11th known commitment for the 2013 recruiting class.
