Fuller No Longer With Illini

CHAMPAIGN - A member of the 2012 Illinois football recruiting class is no longer with the team, coach Tim Beckman confirmed to IlliniPlaybook Monday.

Ta'Jarvis Fuller and Illinois parted ways after a recent violation of team rules.

Beckman declined further comment, but said the native of Fort Myers, Fla. "voluntarily withdrew" from school.

A 6-1, 190-pound high school defensive standout, Fuller was listed at the 'star' position, a mixture of both linebacker and safety, on the Illini roster.

A broken left hand limited his participation in preseason camp, but he was still involved in the mix for playing time this season. He saw action in the Charleston Southern game Sept. 15.

A 2012 Parade All-American, Fuller totaled 166 tackles, six sacks and five forced fumbles as a senior at Dunbar High in 2011. He chose Illinois, enrolling early in January, over offers from Wisconsin, Georgia Tech, Maryland and Indiana, among others.
