New Season for Austin

Lanphier's Larry Austin is taking on greater responsibility this year.

Springfield Lanphier's men's basketball team looks much different than last year. The lions graduated a big chunk of their scoring and lost key players like Everett Clemons in the process.

But one face is familiar and remains with Lanphier in junior point guard Larry Austin. Austin has taken on more of the responsibilities of a typical point guard this year and is leading Lanphier early on in several categories.

Austin had Illinois head coach John Groce and Oklahoma State coaches Travis Ford and Steve Middleton in attendance. We were also there and talked with Austin following a 70-66 win over Harvey-Thornton.
