Benet comes into the game at 17-3 with some hard fought wins against Curie and Niles Notre Dame. Naperville Central enters the game at 11-6.
Sean O'Mara spent the early portion of the season adjusting from a deep run in the IHSA state football playoffs. But now that he's back in basketball form, he has Benet rolling.
O'Mara is a very heady player who has a full arsenal of post moves and holds his ground in the paint. He rebounds well, has a jump hook over both shoulders, and moves effectively without the ball getting position.
Czarnowski, on the other hand, will provide a challenge to O'Mara in the post. While not the most athletic post out there, he's a big body who will fight on the block and uses his body to position himself well for rebounds and score close to the basket.
O'Mara already held his ground against a stiff test in Cliff Alexander earlier this season, but this game could present a different type of challenge for O'Mara and Benet.
Still, I think Benet has the edge in this one due to the supporting cast for the Flyers including Pat McInerney and Jack Euritt.
The game tips at 6:30 PM on Saturday.
