Bere Gives The Latest

Cincinnati Linebacker Tinashe Bere, who hails from the same high school as current Illini Steve Hull, gives the latest.

Illinois was one of the first to extend an offer to Cincinnati Sycamore linebacker Tinashe Bere. Now, he holds a handful of BCS offers and has started taking visits.

"I've been getting some new offers," he said. "Most recently I got Purdue, Iowa, Kent State, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, and Miami (OH)."

This winter, Bere has taken a pair of visits already to two Big Ten schools, Purdue and Illinois.

"The visit to Illinois was pretty good," Bere said. "I'd been there before but this time I got to see some of the new jerseys they might get my freshman year."

Bere, being from Ohio, stays in touch with Illinois assistant Alex Golesh, who recruits all over the state of Ohio, including Cincinnati.

"We talk now and then," he said. "Illinois is toward the top of the list for me."

As for the other schools up there for Bere?

"With Illinois," he said, "I'd say probably my other Big Ten offers and Cincinnati."

And with visits to Illinois and Purdue under his belt, Bere plans to see a few of his other leaders soon.

"I'll probably go to Cincinnati, Duke, Louisville, Vanderbilt, and some of the other schools I have offers from," he said.
