Police escorts to the arena for practice and dinner at Vince Young's steakhouse.

Welcome to the NCAA Tournament, Austin, Texas style. Illinois took part in the media meet and greet and open practice at the Erwin Center Thursday in preparation for it's matchup with Colorado, set for Friday at 3:40 p.m.

The team arrived in the Lone Star State Wednesday, immediately hitting a hot spot in the Austin area.

Players and staff ate at the steakhouse owned by the legendary Longhorns quarterback, a chance to cut loose and relax before getting to work.

Thursday was more business-casual.

Seniors Brandon Paul, D.J. Richardson, Tyler Griffey and Sam McLaurin took questions in the "Big Room," followed by Coach John Groce.

Then the team hit the floor for around 40 minutes, working through mostly shooting drills to get acclimated to the neutral setting.
