The 6-foot-7, 200-pound 2015 prospect said he enjoyed his time in Champaign.
"It was a great trip, and I'm happy to be building a relationship with the coaching staff," Toye said.
He arrived at 11 a.m. and stayed until 4 p.m., with the staff showing Toye as much as it could during his time on campus.
"I got to see the basketball arena and the team locker rooms," he said. "I also went to the building in which the students and players study."
"They (the Illinois coaches) told me they were happy with what they saw me do in the spring, but Coach (John) Groce would like to see me play (more) as well," Toye said.
The visit provided the chance for Toye to get to know Groce and vice versa. The head coach left an impression.
"He is a great guy," Toye said. "He has confidence in all of his players, and he is very high energy."
