Illinois received the verbal commitment of yet another junior college offensive weapon on Thursday.
The second wide receiver from the junior college ranks to pick Illinois
this week, Geronimo Allison
committed to Illinois Thursday afternoon, IlliniPlaybook has confirmed.
A 6-3, 185-pound playmaker currently attending Iowa Western Community College, Allison joins Tyrin Stone-Davis, who made the call Tuesday, as players who committed this week.
The Illini have had recent success recruiting the junior college ranks, most recently landing five such players in the 2013 class, including receiver Martize Barr.
Mike Dudek and Malik Turner are the other two wideouts currently committed to Illinois in the class.
Allison posted 26 receptions for 428 yards and two touchdowns as a freshman in 2012. He plans to graduate in December and will have three years to play two following the 2013 football season.
