Hull Sidelined by Hamstring Injury

Steve Hull found himself in familiar territory for Thursday's practice.

CHAMPAIGN - Steve Hull's athleticism has never been in question.

It's his availability that's always been in flux. The injury bug hit the senior once again, as Hull missed Thursday's practice with a hamstring issue.

Illinois coach Tim Beckman didn't give a time-table for Hull's return, but stressed the balance of making sure he's capable of playing while not missing too much practice time.

"We've got to get Steve healthy," Beckman said. "We've got to make sure he is completely healthy so (Thursday) he didn't get to get his reps."

Shoulder injuries cost Hull much of last season and weighed heavily in his decision to switch to offense for his final season as an Illini. He worked with the second-team offense the first three days of fall camp.

"You know everybody has to get their reps, especially when you're moving to a new position," Beckman said. "We've got to get him healthy."
