IlliniPlaybook "Picks to Click" Contest

Illinois kicks off the 2013 Football season on the field this Saturday, but IlliniPlaybook is kicking off our "Picks to Click" competition, a season-long game where you predict who will shine on the field. Keep reading to learn more and get in the game!

So what happens when you mix predictions on players of the game, fantasy sports, and Illinois football? Did you guess "IlliniPlaybook Picks to Click"? Maybe you did, but even if you didn't, keep reading to find out more about the game and how it's played.

Really it's pretty simple. Each week, readers select one offensive player (non-lineman) and one defensive player, who they expect to "click" that particular week. But picking the same guys every week wouldn't be any fun, right?

Contestants are only allowed to pick the same player on offense/defense once in a four week period. So you can still have a favorite player, but not in this game.

That's the simple part. Now let's take a look at how the scoring is broken down. Scoring is similar to any traditional fantasy football game with a few small tweaks and twists:

- 1 point per 30 yards passing
- 1 point per 10 yards rushing
- 6 points per touchdown
- (-4) points per interception
- (-2) points per fumble (not lost)
- (-4) points per fumble (lost)
- (-1) points per sack

Running Backs/Receivers:

- 1 point per 10 yards rushing
- 1 point per 10 yards receiving
- 6 points per touchdown
- (-2) points per fumble (not lost)
- (-4) points per fumble (lost)

- 1 point per tackle
- 2 points per tackle for loss
- 4 points per sack
- 4 points per interception
- 6 points per touchdown
- 3 points per blocked kick/extra point
- 2 points per pass deflection
- 4 points per forced fumble
- 4 points per fumble recovery

Action starts this Saturday against SIU, so be sure to get your picks in by game time, and remember, once you pick a player, they're off-limits for the next three weeks.
