One of the few Illini players that was aggressive and the only one that produced points in a somewhat efficient manner, Abrams finished with 13 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. The junior logged 37 minutes as he was too valuable to remove from the game and hit six of 15 shot attempts
Three stars next in line:
The senior had a miserable night shooting (2 for 11), but did hit a big 3 to help give Illinois a chance late. Ekey finished with nine boards and five points.
The other player Coach John Groce cited as playing with aggression on the offensive end, the shots just weren't falling for Bertrand on this night. He finished with four points after missing eight of his 10 looks. He did, however, pull down seven rebounds and had two assists and two steals.
The junior big man had six points and seven rebounds in 28 minutes of action. His two-point bucket late kept the Illini within striking distance, and his 3-for-7 effort from the field was a better look than the rest of his teammates.
