Domer Still Running

A lot of football recruits decide to forego winter and spring sports their senior year to prepare for college, but Illinois commit Matt Domer is using his second sport to prepare for his future football career.

Illinois commit Matt Domer is a runner, no doubt. After putting up an impressive performance en route to a state championship this fall, the Mount Carmel running back is now shifting his running from a 100 yard field to a 400 meter oval.

"My offseason is going really well!" he said. "I'm managing both track and my offseason workouts really well. That way I can get big and keep my speed."

Even though a majority of his workouts are running related, Domer is still staying sharp on his football skills. There's no denying that Domer is a hard runner on the field as well as a hard worker off the field.

"I have a bunch of different things going on to touch on every part of my game," he said.

In the mean time, he keeps in touch with his future coaches at Illinois, and the excitement for his arrival is mutual between the two.

He said, "They're excited to have me coming and I'm excited to be going there."
