3 Questions... Illinois-Iowa

Three questions Illinois must answer in a positive manner to make a win versus Iowa possible.

1) Who is going to help Rayvonte Rice score?

2) Can Nnanna Egwu continue his run of excellent defense and hold his own on the glass?

3) Despite obvious roster limitations, can the Illini find a way?

I loved Groce's response to question about turnover and stability in the second year of a coach's tenure with a program. Check it out...

"You're obviously trying to get the most out of every team you coach. It is what it is. I'm fully aware that we have nine new players out of 14. I meaa, I know that, but we're not using that as an excuse. I realize that Jaylon Tate is a freshman, but did he jump to the ball or did he not jump to the ball? It's February. It's nothing personal, I love him. Jump to the ball. We don't have any excuses." Excuses can also be explanations. But Groce isn't having any of it.

Iowa enters as a team with 11 players logging 12 minutes or more a game this season, none of which are freshmen. This is a complete roster, and it includes one of the Big Ten's best in Roy Devyn Marble.

Can the Illini find a way while relying on freshmen off the bench? Either they will or they won't, but Groce isn't going to accept that as the reason for any more losing.
