Conway Part of In-State Visit Group

Illinois had several top in-state targets in Champaign on Saturday, one of which was offensive tackle Cody Conway, whose recruitment is quickly picking up, including a recent offer from the Illini.

For Plainfield North offensive tackle Cody Conway, his visit to Illinois this weekend gave him a more in-depth look at what the University of Illinois is all about.

"The visit was great," he said. "It was more of getting to know the staff, and I got to see a little more of the campus and the housing."

Conway was one of several in-state targets on-hand for the day. He got a chance to interact with a lot of his fellow recruits during his time there.

"It was nice. We talked a little about the decision making process," he said. "The fact that a lot of us are from the same area and have heard of each other before makes us all a little tighter."

One of the other parts of the visit that Conway took a lot of interest in was seeing the football facilities, including the equipment room, where he got his first look at the new uniforms.

"I got to go into the locker room and see the new jerseys in person for the first time," he said. "I like the all-white one. I like it mostly because of the helmet. It all meshes well and there will be plenty of jersey combinations."

Conway has been in contact with offensive line coach A.J. Ricker. Keep checking in here at SCOUT and IlliniPlaybook as Conway's recruitment continues to unfold.
