A Name to Know: Omahri Jarrett

Interest is picking up for running back Omahri Jarrett... More offers could be on the way, too.

Omahri Jarrett already holds offers from the likes of Appalachian State, Georgia State, Middle Tennessee State and a few others.

Schools from the ACC and SEC have expressed interest as well.

The 5-10, 170-pound Douglasville, Ga. (New Manchester) standout plans to unofficially visit Georgia Tech next week and Duke in two weeks.

Camps at N.C. State and South Carolina are on the schedule as well.

This summer may keep Jarrett busy with travel and football, but the recruiting process is something he's enjoying.

"It's been extremely fun, because not everyone at my school has the chance to do this," he said. "I've been wanting to be a college football player since I was real young, so it's great to have schools offering me and interested."

The plan, Jarrett says, is to see what new schools jump into the mix this summer, evaluate the list and set up visits for the fall. A decision will likely occur this fall, Jarrett says, and he knows what he'll be judging schools by.

"Distance I have from my family, certain majors offered and the team chemistry," Jarrett said.

The nearby Yellow Jackets have Jarrett's attention for a couple of reasons.

"It's right in the middle of the city and it's not too far from home," he said.
