Bragg talks final five
One of the most hotly contested recruitments is beginning to wind down. Five-star forward Carlton Bragg from Cleveland (Ohio) Villa Angela-St. Joseph’s decided to narrow down his school list to five on Monday. “I have a final five of Kansas, Kentucky, Illinois, UCLA, and Arizona,” Bragg informed Scout.com. Some very good programs who spent significant time recruiting Bragg were left off the list, and he says it was an extremely difficult decision. “It was a pretty tough decision to cut it down to five,” explained Bragg. “It was real tough, but I picked the five schools that were best for me.” About Kentucky, Bragg said, “I love how they progress and develop players. Also I like their coaching style and how Coach (John) Calipari relates to his players.” When it comes to UCLA, Bragg said, “I like how they develop players especially like Kyle Anderson. He is someone I looked up to coming out of high school and he thrived in their system.” Arizona has been on a recruiting role lately, and Bragg likes the Wildcats program. “I like their style of play and how they play open,” explained Bragg. “Also they have a great coaching staff.” Arguably the school recruiting Bragg the longest has been Illinois, and that definitely helped the Illini make the cut. “They love everything about me and I love them too,” said Bragg. “They were one of the first schools to offer me, and they didn’t miss an AAU game of mine, that shows a lot.” About Kansas, Bragg said, “They developed players like Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid. They just continue to put players in the league, and Bill Self is a real nice guy and I am looking forward to meeting him.” The next step for Bragg is to make official visits to the schools on his list. When on those visits Bragg knows what he will be looking for. “Pretty much I am looking for the campus life and the style of play,” said Bragg. “Location won’t matter at all.” Currently Bragg is viewed as the No. 3 power forward and the No. 11 player overall.
