Illinois Offers 2015 PG

Marcus LoVett hasn't been in Illinois very long, but he already has the attention of the in-state Illini and on Thursday night, Illinois offered the well-traveled 2015 PG.

Illinois has extended a scholarship offer to the top available prospect in the state of Illinois in Morgan Park 2015 point guard Marcus LoVett.

Ever since Lovett transferred to Morgan Park from California rumors circulated that the Illini would get involved with the senior. Thursday night head coach John Groce informed the star floor general that he has an offer from Illinois.

Lovett has been lighting it up in open gyms the last few weeks since his arrival in the Windy City impressing college coaches around the Midwest and beyond. Known for being flashy early in his career he has improved as a point guard and distributor over the years. He has greatly enhanced his ability to shoot the ball from the perimeter with a sweet looking lefty jumper.

Expect the Illini to put the full court press on Lovett throughout the high school season as he is expected to wait until the spring to make a call on his future college.

He checks in at No. 88 overall and the No. 13 point guard in the latest Scout.com rankings.
