Illinois adds versatile recruit to 2015 class in the form of Florida ATH Desmond Cain
With the offensive side of the ball firmly addressed in the 2015 class, Illinois
is making a push to fill in the defensive side now, and depending on which side of the ball he ends up on, they potentially made a step in that direction with the addition of Delray Beach (FL) American Heritage ATH Desmond Cain
late Tuesday evening.
Cain, a three-star prospect, held offers from Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Rutgers, SMU, South Carolina, South Florida, Syracuse, Temple, and Virginia before selecting the Illini.
Cain already saw the Illinois campus when he visited the Illini for the September 20th matchup with Texas State. Listed by some as a DB, Cain has also spoken with Illinois about ending up on the offensive side of the ball.
Illinois has lots of young talent at both the corner and receiver position, but Cain may be best served on the defensive side of the ball when all is said and done simply because of depth.
