"(The visit) was great!" Frank said. "I really liked how they had the lights glowing at the stadium when we were leaving, too. It looked so cool."
Frank was offered following a camp this summer at which he threw for Illinois offensive coordinator and quarterback coach Bill Cubit. The two were reunited on Saturday and picked up where they left off.
"We just talked about the offense a lot and some of the reads and plays they're putting in," Frank said. "The relationship (with Illinois) has grown a lot."
Illinois was already in a good position before the visit weekend, but the Illini are still gaining momentum with one of their top targets.
"After the visit, Illinois is growing on me a lot," he said. "I'm not really sure what other schools might offer next to be honest. Things might slow down a bit now. I would say Illinois is in my top 3 though."
Frank spent much of his junior season sidelined with a broken foot, but has worked hard this offseason to get back into game form and prepare for his senior season.
In the meantime, he's set to lead the Midwest BOOM 7-on-7 team this spring.
