Fox on Illini

With a recent visit to Illinois in the books -- sophomore linebacker Malcolm Fox is one to keep an eye on. The Chicago St. Rita athlete talks about being on campus in Champaign.

Chicago St. Rita sophomore outside linebacker Malcolm Fox took a spring visit to Illinois and enjoyed what he learned about the Illini.

“Illinois was great. The coaches showed me a lot of love. I fell in love with the football facilities as well. To be honest I think that they are at the top of my list right now.”

Fox enjoyed the time that he got to spend with the coaches while on campus.

“I actually talked to a couple of the coaches. And the coaches were real with me, they told me what to do to get better,” Fox said. “They want me to come to a camp this summer so they can see me in action besides my film. The coaches all seemed cool.”

Fox is making the transition from primarily playing defensive line to outside linebacker this offseason and is planning on camping at Illinois at the linebacker slot.

“They told me to keep working, and train more as a linebacker so I’ll be prepared,” Fox said.

The other camps and visits on tap for the 6-foot, 215-pound athlete are coming up soon too.

“My next visits are Northern Arizona, Northern Illinois, and Western Illinois. The camps I am planning on are Northwestern, Illinois, Michigan State and Wisconsin,” Fox said.
