Big night of visitors for Illini hoops

The Illini basketball program will host a trio of visitors for the football opener tonight at Memorial Stadium.

John Groce and his staff are looking to capitalize on the atmosphere at Memorial Stadium on Friday night by bringing in three big targets for unofficial visits.

Morgan Park point guard Charlie Moore will headline the group as one of Illinois' top targets in the 2016 class. He will return to Champaign for an official visit later this month.

Meanwhile, the Illini will also have two of their top 2017 backcourt targets at the game in Da'Monte Williams and Jordan Poole. Williams was a standout for the Mac Irvin Fire 16U squad over the summer, as he showed his ability to be a scoring lead guard.

Poole had a strong showing as well, particularly in July. The Milwaukee native possesses a dead-eye stroke from the outside and he is extremely smooth with the ball in his hands.
