There has been a great deal of focus on the La Lumiere basketball program lately for John Groce and the rest of Illini nation.
Groce's biggest addition on the recruiting trail came from La Lumiere in the 2015 class with Jalen Coleman-Lands, who may be the most talented freshman guard in the Big Ten. The Illini were also after 2016 center James Banks prior to his commitment to Texas this week.
Now, Illinois will have another La Lumiere big man at the top of their priority list. On Friday, La Lumiere announced the addition of 2016 five-star center Jeremiah Tilmon.
The East St. Louis product is the top prospect in the state and the most talented target on the Illini radar. Groce and his staff have been up to La Lumiere on multiple occasions during the last month, and the team visited the Illinois campus on Sept. 26.
The Illini have built a great relationship with Heirman and that program, and the hope is that it continues to pay dividends - especially if Tilmon is now in the fray. Illinois has also extended offers to 2017 five-star wing Brian Bowen and 2019 point guard phenom Tyger Campbell.
