Illinois' pursuit of a wing in the 2016 class has picked up once again, and three-star small forward Kipper Nichols has become an intriguing target.
The Lakewood, Ohio product signed with Tulane in the 2015 class, but he was granted his release for family reasons. Now, Nichols is once again on the market, and according to a source, he is beginning an official visit to Illinois on Sunday night.
Nichols played for the King James Shooting Stars on the EYBL circuit. The 6-foot-6 wing averaged 10.1 points and 5.8 rebounds during the 2014 EYBL season. Nichols would be a nice add for the Illini with his athleticisim and motor. He can get to the basket, rebound and defend.
