When M.J. McGriff said two weeks ago that he'd been waiting on that "big offer," the offer to which he was referring came from Illinois.
On Saturday, McGriff cashed in on that offer, giving Illinois a verbal commitment.
McGriff -- who also had offers from Ball State, Bowling Green, Middle Tennessee, South Florida, Temple and Toledo, among others -- said likes to model his game after L.A. Rams receiver Tavon Austin.
"Dynamic," McGriff said. "I'm a playmaker. I don't believe in going down on first contact. I believe every play is supposed to be a touchdown. If I have the ball in my hands, I'm thinking touchdown."
