Why Illinois?

"The first day I stepped foot on campus during my unofficial, I instantly fell in love with it.  Illinois was a great fit for me because it just had everything on my checklist: a great school, Big Ten football, and just a great family environment.  The thing I'm looking forward to most about going there is just getting on the field with the boys and trying to achieve the goal that we all want."

Gavin is a deceptively athletic tackle prospect with a great frame, long arms, and the ability to put another 20 pounds onto that frame.  He loves to finish his blocks and uses his athleticism to get a quick jump at the snap.  His kick step at tackle needs some improvement, however he slides well and could end up on the interior if the depth chart favors that move.

Gavin is an intriguing tackle prospect because he will likely require some time to add weight and develop, however he has several qualities such as quickness and fluidity that will help mold him into a "jack of all trades" when it comes to the offensive line.
