"Well, Illinois has an outstanding computer engineering program that's ranked 5th in the nation. Also the Campus is amazing with wonderful resources. Being a part of the Big 10 speaks for Illinois' top of the line athletic facilities."
"I look forward to winning championships at Illinois, being the best team in the nation, and obtaining my Computer engineering degree."
Shogbonyo, a two-way player, was also an offensive lineman, believe it or not. But in college, Illinois coaches project him to play linebacker. He plays aggressively and downhill from the linebacker position, showing surprising ability to shed blocks for a guy his size. He will need to be more disciplined in reading plays, but that will come with increased film study at the college level.
The biggest improvement Shogbonyo will need to make at the college level will be in the weight room. He is currently an undersized linebacker who will likely need to add 15-20 pounds to handle the difference in physicality between high school football and Big Ten football. Hopefully he will be able to maintain his mobility with the additional weight.
