Illini targets crack updated 2017 Top 100

Several Illini basketball recruiting targets, including three in-state prospects, crack updated 2017 Scout Top 100

The Class of 2017 is a crucial one of Illinois basketball and Illini head coach John Groce. A quick scroll through's updated Class of 2017 Top 100 prospects quickly shows why.

The Illini currently already have one Class of 2017 commit, Belleville East guard Javon Pickett, who does not crack the top-100. They are expected to have four or five more scholarships available in a class that is deep in high-major in-state prospects.

Former East. St. Louis forward Jeremiah Tilmon, currently playing at La Lumiere Prep in Indiana, is the top-rated Illini target at No. 10. Fellow Illinois natives, DaMonte Williams -- the son of former Illini Frank Williams -- checks in at No. 45, Evanston guard Nojel Eastern is at No. 55 and Belleville Althoff wing Jordan Goodwin squeezes in the top-75 at No. 74.
