Jeremiah Tilmon suffers dislocated shoulder

Five-star big man Jeremiah Tilmon dislocated his shoulder on Saturday.

La Lumiere junior center Jeremiah Tilmon dislocated his left shoulder on Saturday at Madison Square Garden in the DICK'S Sporting Goods High School Nationals title game - his mom, April, told IlliniInquirer.com.

The injury occurred just minutes into the clash against Oak Hill. Tilmon was called for a reach-in foul, and he immediately grabbed his left arm and went to the floor in excruciating pain.

Tilmon left for the locker room and he was later taken to the hospital. La Lumiere missed their star big man, but they battled to only fall just short 62-60 at the buzzer in overtime.

It remains unclear at this time whether Tilmon's injury will require surgery.

"They will let me know depending on my rehab," Tilmon told IlliniInquirer.com.

Tilmon had six points and seven rebounds against Montverde in the semifinals on Friday. The five-star big guy had nine points and 10 rebounds in the opener on Thursday.

Tilmon is the top target on the recruiting radar for the Illini, who had a rash of injuries this past season. Illinois point guard signee Te'Jon Lucas also fractured his ankle during his senior season.
