Illini head coach John Groce will be in Indianapolis on Saturday to visit 2018 forward Kevin Easley - per George Hill Rising Stars head coach Mike Saunders.
Easley is one of the most notable sophomores in the Midwest, and he averaged 11.7 points and 6.9 rebounds per game at Lawrence North (Ind.) this past season. Easley already has offers from Butler, Indiana, Purdue and Xavier, along with interest from Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State and others.
At 6-foot-6, Easley has length and athleticism at his disposal. He has a smooth mid-range game as well. The key for Easley is to continue developing his skills on the wing, while also turning up his motor.
He is still a ways away from tapping his potential, but that's what you'd expect with two more seasons of high school ball left and a bunch of games to be played in AAU. Some big-time programs have already noticed who he can be down the road.
Easley is planning unofficial visits to DePaul, Michigan and UCONN - according to Saunders.
