Illini visiting Theo John, McKinley Wright and Jericho Sims

Illinois will check in on a trio of 2017 targets in Minnesota on Wednesday.

Illini assistant coach Paris Parham will be in Minnesota on Wednesday to visit 2017 four-star big man Theo John and three-star point guard McKinley Wright.

The Champlin Park teammates both received offers from Illinois last July. John has specifically been a high priority, as the Illini look to bolster their frontcourt.

John averaged 13.9 points and 10.6 rebounds per game during his junior campaign. He took an official visit to Oklahoma earlier this month, and the Illini are still working to get him on campus.

Parham has visited him multiple times since the offer last summer, and they have built a good relationship.

"I really like talking to him," John told in October. "It seems like I'm highly valued by them. I would like to think that I'm one of their top prospects, but got to keep working to maintain that."

The Illini are also expected to check in on Cristo Rey Jesuit power forward Jericho Sims, who received an offer from Illinois on Monday. Wright and Sims are teammates on D1 Minnesota on the adidas circuit.
