Illini visit 2017 big Mayan Kiir

Illinois has eyes on a 2017 big man down in Florida.

Illini assistant Dustin Ford visited 2017 big man Mayan Kiir from Victory Rock Prep (Fla.) on Wednesday.

Kiir is a long, athletic power forward at 6-foot-9. He runs the floor, rebounds, blocks shots, and he has any extremely high motor.

Ford watched Kiir with the Florida Sons last weekend in Dallas on the adidias circuit. Kiir finished the weekend with 12.5 points, nine rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. He ranked fifth in the league in rebounding, and he tied for second in blocked shots.

The Illini will continue to track Kiir this weekend in Atlanta.
