The final day of the late signing period is here, and Illinois Mr. Basketball winner Charlie Moore is still on the board.
Moore began a slate of visits two weeks ago, which included stops at LSU, Georgia Tech (unofficial) and SMU. But no decision has come since then.
Morgan Park head coach Nick Irvin told IlliniInquirer.com last month that Moore would not be signing another letter of intent. He could sign a scholarship agreement instead after the signing period.
Illinois has remained involved with Moore, and both parties were planning an unofficial visit to Champaign before a decision was made. However, the Illini have faced a hurdle of not having an available scholarship at this time.
That could be fit to change soon, though. Illini guard Kendrick Nunn plead guilty to one count of misdemeanor battery on Wednesday, and many are anticipating his exit. Illinois is also waiting to hear from the NCAA on sixth-year waivers for Tracy Abrams and Mike Thorne Jr.
