The Illini have been locked in on electric scoring playmaker Trent Frazier, and the top point guard in the state of Florida has locked in his official visit to Champaign next month.
Frazier told IlliniInquirer.com on Thursday that his official visit to Illinois is lined up from August 19-21.
Illinois head coach John Groce and assistant Dustin Ford had an in-home visit with Frazier in the spring, and he called the Illini his leader after that. The Orange and Blue have held that position up to this point.
Frazier has been feeling tons of love from the Illini fan base as well.
"Loving the support and love," Frazier said. "Feels like home already."
Frazier put up multiple 30-point outings at the Best of the South event last week, and he's back at it in Vegas this week.
The Illini already have major momentum in the 2017 class after adding five-star big man Jeremiah Tilmon, and Frazier would be a perfect fit for Groce's system at the lead guard spot.
