Illini in final six for top-100 wing Abu Kigab

Illini announced in final group for top-100 wing Abu Kigab on Wednesday.

Prolific Prep (Cal.) four-star small forward Abu Kigab included the Illini in his top six on Wednesday.

Illinois is joined by Cal, Tennessee, Oregon, UCLA and USC in the final group for the top-100 Canadian product. Kigab has an official visit set to Oregon on September 10th, according to Scout.com's Evan Daniels.

Kigab is a tough, versatile wing with skill, athleticism and an ability to score. He averaged 9.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game on the EYBL circuit with the Oakland Soldiers.

Illini assistant coach Dustin Ford tracked Kigab on the circuit the last two years, and Illinois extended an offer his way back in June 2015. The Illini will push to get in the visit mix.

Kigab is ranked No. 90 in the Scout.com top 100 for the 2017 class.
