Illini Recruit Recap: Big plays by defenders

A few Illini defensive commits shined on Friday night. Check out how each of the 11 Illini commits fared.

- Defensive back commit Antwan Collier would've made Lovie Smith proud as he scooped up a missed punt and scored to help lead Miami (Fla.) Southridge to a 26-15 win over Columbus.

- Defensive line commit Olalere Oladipo blocked a punt and had three tackles for loss as Huntley dominated Dundee-Crown 57-14.

- Wide receiver commit Ricky Smalling and Brother Rice defeated Aurora Christian 45-6.

- Offensive line commit Larry Boyd and Trinity Catholic defeated O'Fallon Christian 62-6. 2019 quarterback Isaiah Williams completed 8 of 11 passes for 263 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 178 yards and three touchdowns on six carries.

- Running back commit Mike Epstein ran for a 27-yard touchdown as St. Thomas Aquinas cruised to a 49-0 win over Plantation.

- Quarterback commit Cam Thomas rushed for more than 100 yards and scored twice with his feet, a one-yard and 80-yard run, respectively. He also threw two interceptions as Marian Catholic lost to St.Viator 28-14.

- Athlete commit Kendall Smith and Bolingbrook crushed Stagg 55-7.

- Linebacker commit Marc Mondesir and St. Rita defeated Providence Catholic 32-31 in overtime.

- Offensive line commit Vederian Lowe and Rockford Auburn defeated Belvidere North 31-7. The bigger news of that game may have come on the sideline.

- Defensive back commit Tony Adams and SLUH's game vs. De  Smet was postponed to 6 p.m. Saturday.

- Wide receiver commit Carmoni Green and Miami Central play at First Coast on Saturday afternoon.
