The Illini hoops staff is on the road this week during the open recruiting period, and Illinois will be in to see five-star 2018 lead guard Ayo Dosunmu on Wednesday at Morgan Park -- per a source.
Assistant coach Paris Parham will see Dosunmu at open gym. The state's top point guard prospect took an unofficial visit to Champaign on Sept. 3 for Illinois football's season opener against Murray State.
"It was a great experience. That was the first college football game that I've been to. Seeing that environment and the fans was a new vibe for me. I liked it," Dosunmu told IlliniInquirer.com. "The environment was good. The coaching staff was cool. Overall, I had a nice time down there."
That was Dosunmu's second trip to campus since being offered by the Illini in May. Last weekend, he went up to Wisconsin for an unofficial visit.
Dosunmu is ranked No. 20 overall in the Scout.com 2018 rankings. He is an electric scorer at the point guard position -- utilizing his length, handles, quickness and knack for getting to the hoop at will.
