Illinois will host four-star power forward Mayan Kiir for an official visit the weekend of Oct. 7-9 -- Victory Rock Prep (Fla.) head coach Loren Jackson told IlliniInquirer.com.
The Illini football team will have a home game against Purdue that weekend. Illini assistant coach Dustin Ford was in to see Kiir on Wednesday, and he visited him last week with head coach John Groce. Jackson said that LSU, N.C. State, Mississippi State and VCU have all been in recently as well.
Jackson added that two other programs have official visits locked in with Kiir: N.C. State (Sept. 30) and VCU (Oct. 22).
Kiir talked to IlliniInquirer.com about Illinois late last month.
"Right now, they have a good class in 2017. I can tell the skill level is pretty high for that class. If I went there, I'd have good teammates," he said. "I think it's a good program."
