Four-star Illini commit Da'Monte Williams and the state's top freshman prospect Adam Miller will be in Champaign for a visit on Saturday, a source told IlliniInquirer.com.
The Peoria Manual backcourt duo packs a punch on the Illini hoops visit list this weekend, along with St. Joe's sophomore point guard Marquise Walker.
Williams was in Champaign on Sept. 9-11 for his official visit, which he took along with fellow Illini commits Jeremiah Tilmon and Javon Pickett -- as well as five-star target Kris Wilkes. Williams, Wilkes and Pickett all played in open gym at Ubben with the current team.
While Williams has had stretches of up and down play, there's no doubting the kind of player he can be when he's on top of his game. He was just that in the open gym, according to those in attendance. He was aggressive and played with a high motor, while scoring in a variety of ways.
Progress is what you'd expect out of both Williams and Miller, as they're often working out together in a gym before the sun comes up. Miller has already been tabbed as the next big thing to come out of the Peoria area, and it looks like the suit fits.
The freshman point guard is an electrifying talent with a sky-high ceiling. Miller has already taken two trips to the Illini campus, and Illinois became his first offer when he talked to John Groce on Oct. 7.
Having him back on campus is a great sign, but this will be far from an uncontested race. Kansas assistant coach Jerrance Howard was in Peoria on Wednesday to watch Miller, according to a source.
