On Tuesday afternoon, Steve Overbey of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch tweeted that top in-state WR Jeff Thomas of East St. Louis had arrived at a final group of 5 schools with a decision coming soon.
Following this news, there have been reports that the list "is not accurate", however according to a source close to the situation, Illinois was confirmed to be in his final group of schools.
The source also indicated that Thomas would be deciding "Sometime after December 10th" and was not sure if Thomas would be taking any official visits.
The Illini recently offered QB teammate and Mizzou commit Reyondous Estes, a move that could not only give the Illini a much-needed boost at a thin quarterback position, but could also help with the Illini's standing with the star WR.
Stay tuned in here at Illini Inquirer as the pending decision date approaches.
