Deon Pate told Illini Inquirer he will likely announce his final college decision on Monday night.
Following an official visit to Illinois during the weekend, the Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian defensive lineman also told Scout.com's Corey Bender he decommitted from Appalachian State.
"I more than likely am going to do it tomorrow," Pate told Illini Inquirer. "If not tomorrow, then on Signing Day."
Illinois hosted five official visitors during the weekend: Pate, Alabama defensive lineman Jamal Woods, California defensive back Bennett Williams, Ohio punter Brad Robbins and current Illini cornerback commit Nate Hobbs.
National Signing Day is Wednesday. Illinois currently has 20 commitments for a class that currently ranks 33rd in the Scout.com national team rankings and eighth among Big Ten teams.
