Eddy Gosche doesn't yet hold a Division-I scholarship offer. Yet the Hoffman Estates (Ill.) Conant center is receiving Big Ten interest.
Gosche visited the University of Illinois on Tuesday.
"It was great," Gosche told Illini Inquirer. "All the coaches we very welcoming for my dad and I. (Director of high school relations Nate) McNeal was the one giving us the tour. We talked to any coach or staff member we ran into and at the end I had a meeting with (offensive line coach Luke) Butkus."
The Illini are looking to add some length, athleticism and physicality on the offensive line, and Gosche is one Butkus will keep his eyes on.
"He mostly just talked about my recruiting process with Illinois and what Illinois has to offer," Gosche said. "Overall, I thought Illinois was fantastic. The facilities were unlike anything I've ever seen and the coaches and staff had great hospitality."
Gosche said he also has received interest from Ball State, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Miami (Ohio), Illinois State, Southern Illinois and Northern Iowa.
"All have interest," Gosche said. "I have no offers yet. Every coach says they want to see me at a camp and watch me workout before they offer."
Gosche said he soon will visit Western Michigan and Northern Iowa and will schedule a few camps as well.
"I'm trying to figure out a camp where multiple schools will be at," he said.
