COMMIT: Danville OL Julian Pearl flips commitment from NIU to Illini

Illinois flips NIU commitment, Danville offensive lineman Julian Pearl during campus visit

Danville (Ill.) lineman Julian Pearl has flipped his commitment to Illinois, multiple sources told Illini Inquirer.

Pearl committed to Northern Illinois on Feb. 6, but he switched his commitment to Illinois during a campus visit on Thursday. Pearl, a 6-foot-7, 245-pound rising senior, will likely play offensive tackle at Illinois.

Pearl is the second prospect to commit to Illinois in the Class of 2017, joining Peoria (ill.) quarterback Coran Taylor.

Pearl is ranked the No. 3 offensive tackle in the state and No. 81 offensive tackle in the country.
