The Illini will play host to Georgetown grad transfer big man Akoy Agau for an official visit beginning on Thursday -- a source told IlliniInquirer.com.
The 6-foot-8, 235-pound forward averaged 4.5 points and 4.3 rebounds in 15 minutes per game last season. He brings length and some athleticism with his game, as well as some defensive attributes.
Agau originally signed with Louisville out of high school as a highly-regarded prospect. He was a mid-year transfer to Georgetown in Dec. 2014, and he sat out the 2015-16 season due to injury.
Agau will be immediately eligible next season, and he could potentially have two years of eligibility depending on how the NCAA rules on his case. SMU, Maryland and Northwestern have also been rumored to be in the mix.
Illinois will bring in Wright State grad transfer guard Mark Alstork for a visit on Thursday and Friday too. Brad Underwood and his staff have four open scholarships for next season after D.J. Williams announced his intentions to transfer on Monday.
