Potential Illini recruit

<p>Read here for one of the fastest rising seniors in the country.

Rajon Rondo has transformed himself into the top remaining point guard available at this time. The Oak Hill standout was on display at last weekend 's Marshall County Hoopfest. Our information says that Illinois has made some strides in its recruitment of Oak Hill point guard Rajon Rondo. The 6-1 Rondo, a native of Louisville, is having a tremendous season at Oak Hill and is arguably the team's MVP.

So, why does Illinois like him? Easy. Rondo is an athletic point guard who is fearless when it comes to getting into the paint. The guy can flat out get to the rim. Last weekend, he averaged 16.5 points and 7.5 assists a game in helping Oak Hill defeat Lexington Catholic and Jackson Lanier.

Rondo isn't a guy who plays much on the perimeter, that's not his strength. He's good at what he does and that is drive and finish or drive and kick. It 's his bread and butter and credit him for understanding his strengths and playing to them.

The biggest obstacle any has in recruiting him appears to be distance. His preference would be to stay close to home but at this point hometown Louisville is out of schollies.

This young man will rank highly in our next Top 100 poll. He's clearly one of the biggest risers of the year. He gets into the paint anytime he wants.
