Signing Day 2004 is Here

<p>College football signing day has arrived and this year's class adds a little of everything speed, depth and skill players

This year's class was waiting on the word of start WR Bryant Creamer, as they say good things come to those who wait. As predicted by last week, Bryant Creamer of Chicago (Simeon) picked Illinois over Wisconsin, Notre Dame and Virginia.

Stars of the class includes:

#7 Kisan Flakes

QB Kisan Flakes of Lovejoy H.S. Lovejoy, GA with offers from Offers: MSU, Middle Tennessee State, Central Florida, and Maryland, West Virginia.

WR Bryant Creamer of Simeon Voc. H.S. IL

LB Sam Carson of Downers Grove, IL "Everything just felt right for me at Illinois. I like the coaches at Illinois and I got along well with the players plus its close to home." Carson, a 6-foot-2, 230-pounder from Downers Grove (Ill.) South was named all-state by the Champaign-News Gazette.

TE J.R. Kraemer Lafayette Sr. H.S Ballwin, MO J.R. Kraemer, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound tight end Kraemer picked the Illini over Purdue and Kansas. Both the Boilers and the Jayhawks offered Kraemer a scholarship

RB Walter Mendenhall Skokie, IL "I picked Illinois because I liked the location and the coaching staff. My family can come watch me play and I'm not that far away from home. "I went to Illinois on an unofficial visit and got along well with the players and I got a chance to check out the offensive scheme at Illinois and I liked what I saw." Walter Mendenhall says Illinois is recruiting him as a running back but don't be surprised if he ends up in the defensive backfield for the Illini.

Xavier Fulton

DT Xavier Fulton Flossmoor, IL Xavier is the #20 defensive tackle prospects in the nation according to SuperPrep/

RB Brock Bolen Germantown, OH Brock is expected to play in one-back sets for the Fighting Illini next season

LB Russ Weil Minooka, IL Three-year varsity starter. Had 60 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and eight sacks as a junior. Also wrestles and won a state championship at 215-pounds in 2002.

Could be Sleepers in the class:

K Jason Reda of Rock Island, IL Three-year varsity kicker. Sent 95% of his kicks through the end zone in 2003. Had a long field goal of 48 yards as a senior. Was named all-state by the Champaign-News Gazette."I kicked a 65-yard field goal at the Illinois camp during the summer."

S Justin Harrison Bloomington IL

WR Jody Ellis Evanston, IL

For years coach Turner has been a great judge of talented players, this year hopes to be the same. The theme with most of these recruits is I can to Illinos to play, it doesn't matter what class your in. Turner is a firm believer in playing the best.
