Top 100 Junior Makes Visits

<p>Conor Gillen, a 6-foot-2, 230-pound junior linebacker from Glen Ellyn (Ill.) Glenbard West will be a Midwest "Hot 100" selection in 2004. Gillen recently spent his spring break on the road visiting schools.

"I visited Notre Dame, Indiana, Purdue and Northwestern this past week," Conor Gillen said.

"I had a really good visit with Notre Dame. I spent time with (Defensive line coach) Greg Mattison and coach (Tyrone) Willingham.

"Coach Willingham is a great guy. We talked for about 45-minutes and I left campus with a very good feeling about Notre Dame."

Gillen doesn't have a scholarship offer yet but he's hearing from several schools.

"My favorites are Notre Dame, Illinois, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Purdue and Arizona State." Gillen said

"I'm going to visit Illinois this week and I'll be visiting Wisconsin and Northern Illinois for spring practices.

"I'll also be attending the Iowa City Nike Camp and the Addidas Camp at Notre Dame.

"Last year I went to the Illinois football camp but I'm not sure where I'll be camping this summer. I'm probably going to be attending 2 or 3 one day camps." Conor Gillen is the younger brother of University of Wisconin linebacker John Gillen.

Gillen had 90 tackles in 2003 and was named all-conference.
